Where exactly is planet Earth in space? Why is climate protection important? How can we protect our planet together for future generations? Some issues that concern all of us still make it difficult for us to make them tangible and interesting to our children. The SpaceBuzz The goal of the interactive school project was to stimulate an interest of young people between the ages of 10 and 12 in space, planet Earth, climate protection, science, and even experience a purpose-built virtual reality simulation experience of space travel. In addition, SpaceBuzz’s virtual reality rocket will take off from the Netherlands on a national roadshow, and on the first weekend of May in Budapest, then in three rural locations, participants will be able to experience the fragile blue planet that is our home as home. astronaut.
In 2018, the SpaceBuzz project began its journey of conquest from the Netherlands, which has now grown into a truly international movement, conquering many European countries and the United States. The initiators of the program use experiential education, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and other modern technologies to help children better understand space and our planet, get closer to the natural sciences, and shape them through visual examples. Their sense of responsibility towards the environment. The basic concept is simple: to show the inhabitants of the Earth in a way they have not seen before. So far, only 600 astronauts have had the opportunity to do so, but despite their different cultural and social backgrounds and origins, they have reported the same thing: Looking at our planet, they realize how fragile our world is and how treasure we are. We really have it on our hands.
We are all astronauts on a spacecraft called Earth
Erasmus + and . support SpaceBuzz Hungary Thanks to the Foundation for Climate and Environmental Protection, which supports education, the SpaceBuzz program arrived in Hungary in March 2022. In the pilot project 1500 students from 21 Hungarian schools participate Led by 70 trained teachers. Kids can prepare for a virtual space mission through a series of 12 “missions” lessons. Through the program, students can learn about the Earth and its climate, space, the solar system, the living and nonliving environment around us, and most importantly, what they can do to preserve the values of our planet for future generations through fun activities and a variety of tools. Pupils develop a “green” strategy for their own school and also organize environmental awareness days for them to learn related tasks.
“A great novelty of the program is that it takes into account the changing needs of children to the fullest in terms of acquiring knowledge and, thanks to modern technology, provides them with the knowledge they need on an empirical basis. In addition, it seeks to address an important problem: there is a growing interest among young people With the natural sciences, although the development of STEM skills, or Mathematical, Scientific, Technical and Information Technology (MTMI) skills, is the key to humanity’s future. The goal is nothing less than to have new ambassadors for our planet, a new planet A generation that is better able to appreciate the Earth as its home and realize what it can do in everyday life to protect the environment.”
– Says Istvan Zentai, founder of SpaceBuzz Hungary.
SpaceBuzz ‘landing’ in galactic cities
After completing the ground missions, the participating youth will start preparing for the virtual space flight, which will be based on a specially designed SpaceBuzz rocket, with a completely unique VR simulation. During the 14-minute adventure trips, students can apply what they’ve learned so far, while experiencing the feeling of “overview” mentioned earlier, meaning that for the first time in their lives they are not looking at the sky from Earth but looking back at the blue planet from space. The SpaceBuzz rocket will be stationed in Hungary between April 29 and May 5 as part of a national roadshow. Students participating in the program can take part in a virtual space flight in Budapest, Hernandini, Hódmezővásárhely and then in Zánka.
“We were very pleased to support the initiative and see that the structure and program of SpaceBuzz has been enriched with many useful elements and feedback during the trial period. Of course, all these elements can be incorporated into the lesson material, and the provision of additional educational technology tools is also an important goal. We want it to be As many local schoolchildren as possible are part of the future SpaceBuzz experience, because the messages and message of the program are very much in line with our creed: modern space travel is not an expensive fad or adventure, an important tool for better understanding our planet and space, with a responsible vision of our Earth and its wildlife and values”
Confirms Dr.. Orsolya Ferencz, Space Commissioner, Sponsor of the SpaceBuzz Pilot.
In addition to Erasmus+ support, the SpaceBuzz Hungary pilot program is being implemented with major support from Sárhegyi és Társai Law Office, REMRED Kft and Herius Capital Zrt.
