Huawei has expanded its range with another mid-range device called Nova Y91. The smartphone will certainly appeal to those who like the design of the iPhone, as it has a very similar notch, but perhaps the most attractive feature is the huge capacity battery, thanks to which you rarely have to go to the sockets.
Huawei Nova Y91 has such a large screen that it can compete in the field of smaller tablets. The device’s screen measures 6.95 inches at 2376 x 1080 pixels, and the panel has a 90Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling. Covering the screen is the Snapdragon 680 chipset, that’s 8 GB of RAM, along with 128 or 256 GB of storage.
The Huawei Nova Y91 has a 50MP primary camera on the back, and the f/1.8 aperture image recording module is backed by a 2MP depth sensor, though you shouldn’t expect much from this module. Selfies can be taken using the 8MP unit on the front, which is housed in a sensor island strongly reminiscent of the Apple iPhones. Some people like it, others less. The phone also offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity options, but for known reasons no 5G networks are required, and there is no headphone output.
Inside the Huawei Nova Y91 is a massive 7000mAh battery, the counter battery can be charged with a 22.5W charge, and lost power is replaced via the USB-C connector. By the way: the necessary adapter will be in the box of the device, contrary to the current fashionable practice. The phone’s fingerprint reader is placed on the power button, and the wide notch does not allow for face recognition – at least not as Apple offers – so it is completely incomprehensible why such a solution was used during production.
The dimensions of the device are 171.6 x 79.9 x 8.9 mm and its weight is 214 grams, which means that despite its dimensions, it cannot be considered heavy at all. The Nova Y91 will be sold in Silver and Black shades but it is not yet known how much they will be asking for. Nova phones tend to appear outside the borders of China, but whether we will ever meet this model is a big question.
