Almost everything about the latest generation MINI has been revealed, but we still have to wait for the reveal, but until then, a Countryman prototype is touring beautiful Scotland.
We already know for sure that one of MINI’s biggest successes this time will not be hybrid models or fully electric cars, but the fundamentally renewed system on board and the choice expands in a new direction. However, modern traditional elements such as the all-wheel drive Countryman still remain.
Spacious cabin, all-wheel drive, intelligent on-board system, and excellent driveability all around.
The MINI Countryman promises a lot, but has every opportunity to deliver. The recreational vehicle, which is based on a shared platform with the BMW The 4.4-meter-long Countryman will be available with three- and four-cylinder turbo engines, a plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrain.
The previous generation MINI Countryman Cooper S All4 was a really fun and easy-to-use car, which together with the pre-refresh engine gave SUV practicality and the classic MINI driving experience. This is exactly what they want to keep, so they put the prototypes to the test on some of the UK’s most beautiful roads and scenery. These places may be familiar to hikers and fans of Top Gear and James Bond.
With off-road tyres, the MINI Countryman is surprisingly good off-road, but it’s likely that very few people will try it.
Stirling is located between Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the medieval-style city center is a sight in itself, but it’s also home to one of Scotland’s largest castles on a volcanic castle hill. From there, MINI test drivers headed north to Mid Lix, then experienced the Countryman’s sporty side on the serpentines near Loch Tay. Among the pyramidal mountains, Ben Lawers is the highest peak with a height of 1214 metres.
They crossed the Glen Eive River and headed south, and along the way, numerous waterfalls break up the stunning green of the valley. This river is a favorite among Scottish whitewater paddlers, but it was also where one of the chase scenes from the James Bond film Skyfall was filmed. With the Countryman, they waded across the river and gradually climbed over broken rocks, so the big MINI is readily available for an easy trip at any time.
