László Salacz, a member of parliament for the region, said the state had provided HUF 256 million for the establishment of the new two-chamber institution, which was supplemented by the local government’s contribution of HUF 14 million. With the construction of the Gingerbread nursery in Szabadszállás, the number of the fourteen nurseries has increased to forty.

László Rideg, Chairman of the Bács-Kiskun County Council, spoke of the recent development of local governments worth HUF 100 billion in 119 settlements in the county, as a result of which a total of about seven hundred buildings were renovated, expanded or built.

He added that thanks to the bids of the Regional and Settlement Development Operational Program (TOP), Szabadszállás was able to spend more than 800 million forints on developments in the recent period.

Joseph Daraboss, Mayor of Zapadsalas, said that at the request of families with young children in Zapadsalas, they decided to develop a cradle. He added that the gingerbread nursery, which had just been delivered, was designed by Tamás Katkics, and the building received a special award in the 2021 Baumet Facade competition.
