EasyJet has welcomed its oldest employee as the airline has appointed 73-year-old Pam Clark as an ambassador for its recruitment drive for flight attendants over the age of 45.
Pam Clark, one of the oldest flight attendants in Great Britain, the lady who has been working as a hairdresser for two decades, at the age of 53, decided to fulfill her childhood dream on board an easyJet flight to Madrid, and applied to the airline using the contact information provided in the flyer Ad contained on board.
Pam is easyJet’s most senior employee and has flown 800,000 passengers on 4,500 flights over the past 20 years.
The grandmother, soon to be a great-grandmother and known to regular passengers as “Nana Bam,” was greeted on her 73rd birthday with an airplane-shaped cake and appointed Ambassador for Flight Attendant Employment Over 45.
Thanks to the initiative launched at the airline last year, the number of people over 45 years of age among the crew has increased by 10 percent, and the number of people over 60 has increased by 160 percent. According to 2022 EasyJet research, 78 percent of parents aged 45 and over would like to take on a new challenge once their children are out of the nest.
