OnePlus Ace 3V has finally become official, which is the first mobile phone with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset. In addition, the novelty is a very correct mid-range device, which will certainly have its own customers.
Our previous article already described the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, which is the latest mid-range premium platform from the American manufacturer. The OnePlus Ace 3V features not only new hardware, but also a new design, where the large camera bump of previous versions has been replaced by a more refined solution with dual image recording modules and a circular flash. There are also changes to the front panel, as the screen is now completely flat.
This particular screen measures 6.74 inches and has a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. The panel is based on AMOLED technology and supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and displays 10-bit color. The maximum screen brightness can reach 2150 nits, and the PWM dimming reaches 2160 Hz. It is worth noting that this is not an LTPO solution like the one found on the Ace 3 model.
The notch on the display houses a 16-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture, 82-degree viewing angle, and 1080p video recording capabilities at 30fps. Staying with the cameras, the back panel is adorned with a primary camera with a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor, which also features optical image stabilization in its lineup. Another member of the camera lineup is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module that detects its surroundings at 112 degrees. The base unit records 4K videos at a frame rate of 60fps.
The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset powering the smartphone could be accompanied by 12 or 16GB of RAM depending on the package, while the storage capacity could be up to 256 or 512GB. The former is based on LPDDR5X and the latter on UFS 4.0 technology. The chip is cooled through a 9,140-square-mm vapor chamber design.
The OnePlus Ace 3V welcomes its new owner with the Android 14 operating system after the first boot, complete with the manufacturer's own user interface. The 5,500 mAh battery that supports 100W SuperVOOC S fast charging is supposed to quench the power hunger of the hardware components, which is regulated by a dedicated control chip. According to the manufacturer, charging a fully discharged smartphone to 100% using the appropriate adapter takes only 26 minutes.
The outer casing of the device has some protection against water and dust. It meets IP65 rating requirements. According to OnePlus, the touchpad detects our fingers even when they are wet. Naturally, the smartphone also has a three-level alarm slider, which is arguably one of the manufacturer's trademarks.
The OnePlus Ace 3V is now available for pre-order in China. The cheapest base version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is available for $280 in local currency, which is roughly 101,000 Hungarian forints. Open sale of the device begins on March 25. It is possible that the phone will also appear in global markets where it could be sold as the OnePlus Nord 4. Another model, the Nord CE 4, will also be coming and will be shown on April 1, and this is no joke.
