Tesla’s assembly quality has come under criticism in the past, with reports about unfinished dashboards. There was a bumper that fell in the rain, a steering wheel that fell off while driving, and paint peeling off, just to name a few of the most interesting. It hasn’t gotten better since then, there are still cars that somehow slip through the loose sieve of quality control.


Prices have skyrocketed, and when someone receives a new Tesla Model S Plaid worth 47 million HUF, they won’t be too happy if they’re left with door insulation or plastic parts at stake. However, this is exactly what happened to an American customer who filmed his experience and shared it on the Reddit.com subpage.

The overhangs don’t bother him so much as the hard closing of the boot lid at the front of the car. According to its description, the lid snaps open even after pressing hard, which is not a very good sign in a car over a thousand horsepower.
