Meta and Facebook's parent company are in talks to integrate Meta's generative AI model into Apple's recently announced AI system for iPhone mentioned Wall Street Journal. Apple is also in talks with startup Anthropic AI to integrate generative AI technology into Apple's intelligence ecosystem.
Meta and Anthropic aren't the only companies in talks with Apple. AI research startup Perplexity is also collaborating with Apple to bring its generative AI technology to Apple's intelligence ecosystem. This collaboration would allow AI companies to distribute their products more widely.
Although the negotiations are not final yet and could fail at any time, the agreements with Apple could bring significant financial gains to artificial intelligence companies. According to the report, the discussions included AI companies that sell premium subscriptions to their services through the Apple Intelligence system.
Apple recently announced its long-awaited AI strategy, which will see it integrate new Apple Intelligence technology into its suite of apps, including Siri, and bring OpenAI's chatbot, ChatGPT, to its devices.
