The PC community can be happy, because now there is no obstacle to tearing up their favorite video game using Sony's advanced PlayStation console.
28.08.2024 – At first, it may seem strange to ordinary people, but it doesn't really matter who or what kind of controller controls the game. For example, if we want to spend long hours in the gaming world, it doesn't hurt to have our hands working comfortably all the time. Microsoft has had a specific customization for controllers for a long time, thanks to the Xbox, but strangely enough, Sony never followed this scheme, because PlayStation controllers are also specific. Most importantly, the position of the joysticks and D-pad differs between the two customizations, which may ultimately decide which controller you will buy for yourself at home. Since personal computers in most cases work with Microsoft's operating system, Windows, for a long time only controllers from the American giant could be used on the platform. But since many people prefer PlayStation distribution more, both Microsoft and Sony have slowly opened up to each other.
By the way, this can be done since the PS controller cable has a USB connector. It was already possible to connect the PS3 controller to our computers using various mods, but the PS4 DualShock 4 and the new PS5 DualSense are already connected to computers. I congratulate Microsoft for being a partner in this for some time.
We already have a program for that.
However, just because we can now easily connect a PS controller to a PC, it has not yet been easy to use these devices in all cases. The truth is that Sony's controller can do something that Microsoft's devices cannot, but these additions are only supported by certain games. But so far, no software has been able to provide us with this kind of support.
But now, as PC gamers, we'll also be able to push Sony's flagship controller, the DualSense Edge, to the limit, as the device has finally received official software support. The PlayStation Supplementswith which we can create our own profiles to customize our controller, that is, we can even specify exactly how we want to play the game. The Edge is a great tool from this point of view, because even the sensitivity of the triggers can be adjusted, and additional triggers can also be installed on it. Since this device is very special, the PC community was not able to benefit much from the top model until the new software arrived.
What's the icing on the cake is that with this software we can also update the firmware of the consoles, removing another set of hassles from the users.
