MTI said the Spaniards finished second after Poland in the Sydney Men’s Cup semi-finals on Wednesday.

In the third and final round of the group stage, the European Ninth Guard led by Hubert Hurkacz defeated Argentina 3-0 and the fourth quartet won three victories.

In Group A, Chile proved 2-1 better than Norway, while the Spanish-Serbian battle for the lead was decided by some successes by Pablo Carreno Busta and Roberto Bautista Agut. The winning goalkeeper of the group will face the Polish winners of the fourth place out of the four.

The Russian and Italian defenders will battle in Group B on Thursday for the other two semi-finals of the team race through Sunday, while the fight between the United States, Britain, Germany and Canada alike remains fully open.
