As part of its own measures, the Malaysian Police will take action against illegal motorcyclists throughout September. On the second day of the raid, authorities found an absurd violation: According to local residents, the owner of a Yamaha motorcycle had affixed “the smallest number plate on Earth” to the back of his motorcycle, writing: Carscopes.
Interestingly, Malaysian laws allow for some modifications with respect to license plates, but the important condition is that the changes cannot be at the expense of readability. On the other hand, it wasn’t really possible to make out the letters and numbers on an ID card the size of a nail file – or even smaller.
It was not revealed by the competent authorities InformationWhat penalty did a motorcyclist who modified license plates illegally receive? All they said is that a total of 1,302 two-wheelers were checked in the first two days, of which more than 200 were seized. In addition, fines were imposed in 642 cases, including for wearing crash helmets and ignoring traffic signals.
As for the mini license plate, its images received a lot of attention on social media – with some even humorously commenting that only Papa Smurf could read it.
