The rain washed away one of Australia’s biggest festivals, turning the place into a sea of mud

The Australian Splendor in the Grass festival was first held three years ago, but instead of live concerts, disastrous weather and a sea of mud await visitors.

Some festival-goers had to wait up to 15 hours to finally get to the campsite and set up their tent, but it wasn’t thanks either, because they woke up to this spectacle the next day:

One visitor in line told the Sydney Morning Herald:We slept in the back seat of our SUV at 3:30 a.m. because we hadn’t moved in hours. We don’t even want to get in anymore, but we won’t leave after we’ve already wasted a lot of money. After this experience I will probably not go back again.

Tickets for the multi-day event cost more than $400, about 100,000 HUF. A spokesperson for the festival announced on Facebook: “Tonight, we will be extending the entry time to the camp sites, so if you are standing in line, we will get you in. Please be patient, we are hearing you.”
