Samsung has announced the Galaxy M35, which is now available for purchase, albeit only in Brazil at the moment. The device is very similar to the already available Galaxy A35, with the difference that it has a 6,000 mAh battery instead of 5,000.
At the moment, the new device can only be purchased from the webstore of Samsung's Brazilian wing, where it is offered for around 167,000 Hungarian forints in local currency. So, for this amount, locals can get a smartphone equipped with an Exynos 1380 chipset, complemented by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space, but the latter can be expanded at any time using a micro SD card. The device runs Android 14 operating system by default, complemented by the One UI 6.1 user interface.
The manufacturer promises four full updates to the Android version of the device, and it will also receive the necessary security patches for 5 years. Like the Samsung Galaxy A35, this phone also has a 6.6-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz. The panel's maximum brightness is 1000 nits.
It is not known what type of glass coating protects the screen from physical impacts, and the product sheet will presumably be clarified later. Of course, the larger battery makes the phone a bit thicker, making it 9.1 mm thick instead of 8.2, and weighing 222 grams instead of 209 grams, when compared to the Galaxy A35.
On the back of the phone, there is a 50-megapixel primary camera, which the South Korean manufacturer also provided with an optical image stabilizer. The camera array also includes an 8MP ultra-wide angle and a 2MP macro module. Video can be recorded at up to 4K at 30 fps, but we can also record at 720p at 240 fps.
The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels, and the unit can be found inside a hole in the screen, centered below the top bezel. The Samsung Galaxy M35 has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support. However, there is no headphone output on the device.
A fingerprint reader on the side bezel, which is part of the power button, identifies the owner. The device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 standards, and charging is via a USB-C connector, which unfortunately only has the USB 2.0 standard, meaning we can forget about Samsung's desktop interface, DeX.
The 6,000 mAh battery inside the phone can be charged at a maximum of 25 watts. The Samsung Galaxy M35 comes in Dark Blue, Light Blue and Gray colours. For now, the phone is only available in Brazil, but it will likely appear on store shelves in other markets later.
