If you’re looking for just the right excuse to skip the first day of the week, we might have found it. Recent research conducted in Ireland showed that the frequency of the most serious heart attacks is highest on Mondays. Although many people have already guessed that this is the most important day of the week, the incoming data still holds some surprises for us: it seems that Sundays also played an important role in these sad statistics. Perhaps the thought of going back to work alone is enough to pose a health risk.
A terrible infection was discovered in a man: could a deadly epidemic await us?

Attendees at the British Society of Cardiology’s annual conference have been told the alarming figures that more than 10,000 STEMIs have been admitted to hospital in Ireland and Northern Ireland, most on Monday. This is basically a particularly dangerous version of a heart attack. The data that forms the basis of the research was collected between 2013 and 2018.
the The results of the study were presented before the conference, so the detailed information is not yet available. However, study leader Dr. Jacques Lavan said in a statement that they found:
“We found a clear statistical association between the onset of the working week and the frequency of STEMI. (…) Suspicion of this association had already arisen among representatives of the profession, however, we considered it necessary to carry out further investigations. It is possible that several factors are jointly responsible About this, however, based on previous research, it can be assumed that the internal circadian rhythm (that is, the biological clock) of the human body can play an important role.
As Laffan noted, we’ve heard about the dangers of depression Mondays before, but exactly what kind of connection there is still uncertain. If the problem is only the stress of work, then the other working days should be just as serious. It is possible that this phenomenon is also related to the fact that more heart attacks are recorded each year when daylight saving time is introduced.

The results of the study indicate that psychological factors have a very serious role in the development of the fatal condition in many cases. Whatever the exact nature of the relationship, it is very important to know more about it. Every five minutes someone is taken to hospital in the UK with a life-threatening heart attack, so revealing the causes is of paramount importance to the health profession and care system.
Nilesh Samani, a professor at the British Heart Foundation, a UK charity that deals with cardiovascular research, also confirmed what was said. He believes that a better understanding of the phenomenon could help clinicians save more lives in the future. Anyway, one thing is for sure, the beloved and often said saying by many workplace managers that “hard work never kills anyone” sounds like a serious misstep and it doesn’t hurt to warn them about it every now and then.
