Dániel Papp, CEO of the Media Services and Wealth Management Trust (MTVA), announced that M4 Sport will continue to live broadcast the awards ceremony for the nation’s top athletes for the next three years. He emphasized that the ceremony was very popular for the TV channel.
– We are happy with the new location, because the Opera is one of the havens of culture – said the CEO.
He added that “it is already guaranteed that it will be difficult for sports journalists to make a decision, because this year has been a successful year for Hungarian sport”.
Odam Schmidt, State Secretary in charge of Sport, emphasized that because of the new location, it was good for the organizers that they could now host nearly a thousand guests instead of the six hundred so far.
– Such an event would introduce our citizens to a wide range of excellence in the world of domestic sport, their achievements, as well as the values they stand for – stated the foreign minister, who also spoke about the fact that thanks to live broadcasts from M4 Sport, “we can smuggle sport into homes as well”.
– With this, perhaps we will help a little to achieve the goal that our state secretariat has formulated, that of becoming a sports nation into a sports nation – said Adam Schmidt, who said that “this year has been great in Hungarian sports.”
György Szöllősi, President of the Hungarian Sports Journalists Association (MSÚSZ), stated that the selection of the best athletes of the year has been taking place without interruption since 1958, and there has always been some kind of ceremony or celebration associated with it.
He noted that “transferring the event to the national stage was a milestone in several respects, for example, because it coincided with the launch of the new national television sports channel, M4 Sport.”
The head of the MSÚSZ stressed that seven award ceremonies would be held at the National Theatre, but when they heard that the Opera building was being renovated, they thought about the possibility of moving the event. – We must always keep in mind to create conditions worthy of the traditions, achievements and ambitions of Hungarian sport for this celebration – he said. György Szöllősi said: They would like to invite well-known domestic and foreign guests to the ceremony in the future.
The fact that more than four hundred sports journalists have been participating in online voting for years makes the vote legitimate, and based on the words of Zsolt Gyulay, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, he wants to play a more active role than before in the upcoming ceremony, MSÚSZ President added.
György Szöllősi said that the ten candidates for each category will be announced soon, these lists will be drawn up by the MSÚSZ Presidency, then voting will start and the names of the top three winners in each category will be announced about ten days before the celebration. .
