Youhorse.auction’s November auction attracted a record number of visitors, with KWPN-certified stallion It’s Otto being the cherry on top. The 10-year-old son of Etollon VDL, who competed at the 1.35m level with Dutch rider Albert Zwier, will go to Canada for €65,000.
The auction catalog described It’s Otto as “Very easy for a girl to ride. It’s Otto.” All the buttons are there. In addition to being a great jumping horse, it can also be a great horse for equation. Otto is distinguished by his agility and caution, and he also has promising offspring. He is Otto descended from the 1.50m jumping stallion, Etolon VDL, who gives his progeny a lot of jumping quality. Seventeen children from Etoulon VDL are already jumping at the level of 1.50-1.60 metres.
Auctioneer Mario Ivers was pleased with the November auction proceedings. “Absolutely fantastic; with the KWPN stallion, Otto, we had, of course, a very special bid, and as expected and hoped for, he was the top bidder that evening. However, there was great interest in this lot, and the number of visitors to the site was crushing.” All records!
The three-year-old Pablo the Best (Aganix du Seigneur x Cupido Flamingo Z) was claimed for €45,000 by a reputable Irish racer/dealer. Carin Z (Canturano I x Harley VDL) traded for €30,000. The five-year-old mare is one of six horses that will cross to the United States. Three-year-old Pierre (Kannan JR x Indoctro) was sent for €26,000 and will go to Sweden.
Ten horses will remain in the Netherlands, France and Germany, five talents have each been purchased and four will travel to Italy. A buyer from Cyprus has secured three promises for the future and two horses will be stabled in Latvia. Other horses auctioned will continue their careers in Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Morocco, Turkey, Croatia and Israel.
