The Plenary Assembly of the Szeged Academic Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences elected the new chair of the SZAB for the 2023-2026 academic session in the renewal workshop. Tibor Krisztin, regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Applied and Numerical Mathematics at the Bolya Institute of the Department of Mathematics SZTE TTIK, can continue his activities as Head of SZAB, together with Anna Deli Mária, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Judit Hohmann, Group Leader of the SZAB Biological Barriers Research of the SZBK Institute of Biophysics, as Vice-Presidents, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Principal Professor of the Institute of Pharmacognosy of the SZTE GYTK and Lajos Kemény, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Dermatology and Allergy Clinic of the SZTE SZAOK were elected.
Regarding the plans for the next academic session, Tibor Kreisztein said that in addition to cultivating science, the most important goal will be to present research results to society, to fight pseudoscience, to provide science-based predictions to decision-makers, and to make the research profession attractive to as many young people as possible.
SZAB continues its previous programmes, for example, the SZAB headquarters provides the backdrop for a large number of scientific, educational and promotional events organized by professional and labor committees. It continues to announce innovation and scientific tenders for young researchers. In collaboration with the university, the latter extends to the secondary school age group. It enhances cooperation with economic actors in the region and with researchers across borders. He continues to educate lectures on common folk ailments, as well as present academics in the Academics Without Ties series. It is preparing to celebrate the bicentenary of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. A new element is the cooperation with the Szeged Working Group of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, we expect to enrich our scientific and artistic programs from this
