The Hungarian team showed a very good performance at the World Championships in age groups, but in the final match against Germany they had no chance, the end was 30-23.
The German national team has been a bit of a mess for us, as we haven’t been able to beat them in recent years, and in fact, in match after match, the scissors have been opened between the two teams. In 2013, only 11th place was at stake in the confrontation between the two teams, and then the Germans proved themselves to be the best with one goal.
The two teams also met in 2017, then we met them in the group stage and in the end we lost 25-21. The Germans made it to the semi-finals that year, but couldn’t win their last two matches, so they ended up in fourth place, while ours finished fifth, just one place behind.

Now, however, we can legitimately hope to win as well as the gold medal, which never happened with the Hungarian national team, where the silver was our best yet. In comparison, the game started well from Hungary’s point of view, and we were still in the lead in the 13th minute.
But since then, the Germans have gradually taken the lead and overturned the score in the first half, and could have gone into the second half with an advantage of three goals. After the turn, the difference between the teams continued to grow, again we managed to return to minus three, but we didn’t get close to them.
The young Hungarians simply could not get over the mind of the German goalkeeper, almost everything fit with the Germans and in the end they won the match 30-23. The junior team has been enriched with one more medal, so Hungary already has two silver medals and one bronze, but we still have to wait a little longer for the coveted gold.
