According to the statement, they are currently trying to “clean” the northern outskirts of the city of Vovchansk, located near the border.
Clashes also broke out in the town of Starica, located about 30 kilometers west of the city. The General Staff wrote that “the enemy's total losses are 106 men plus 25 weapons and military equipment.”
According to the report, the Russians achieved partial success in the vicinity of the village of Lukyantsy, located about forty kilometers west of Vovchansk, but Ukrainian forces have since launched a counterattack. During the day, Russian forces carried out eight air strikes on the settlements of Ude, Lipce, Hravsky and Vezely near Vovchansk.
Oleh Szynyhopov, governor of Kharkiv Province, said via the Telegram app that at least one local citizen was killed and four wounded as a result of Russian bombing on Monday. He also reported that mandatory evacuation orders for orphans and children deprived of parental care were issued from the area most affected by the fighting. According to his words, there are 113 children, nine of whom have already left the small settlements around Vovchansk with their guardians.
Oleksandr Prokogin, the governor of the southern Kherson province, announced on social media that Russian forces bombed the village of Kizumysh in his district during the day, killing two local residents.
