The United States is preparing to remove barriers to trade with India in key sectors such as military arms and other modern industries
US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said. The move comes at a time when Washington considers New Delhi a key ally in the fight against China’s growing global influence, despite the differing views between the two countries on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
India, among others, has become one of the largest buyers of Russian crude oil after the European Union and the Group of Seven imposed sanctions on international trade related to Russian oil.
The focus of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Washington will be in areas such as Research and Development, 5G and 6G Communications Technology, Semiconductor Supply Chains, Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Computing and Biotechnology. Efforts are also being made to remove barriers to strategic trade. This cooperation comes on the basis of the partnership established between the two countries in January, which aims to
