The United States is boycotting the Beijing Winter Olympics

The White House in Washington said on Monday that the United States would not send a single diplomat to attend the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing due to “genocide and humanitarian crimes” in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur province.

If it exists, “the US diplomatic mission would treat these games as if nothing had happened despite the apparent human rights violations and atrocities committed by China in the Xinjiang Uyghur Province. However, we simply cannot do that,” Jin Psaki speaker.

Because of the boycott, no member of the US government will participate in the Olympic and Paralympic Games, but US athletes will compete.

“Team USA has our full support. We support them 100 percent because we support them from home,” added Jen Psaki.

Several human rights organizations accuse Beijing of detaining at least a million Muslims in “re-education camps” in Xinjiang Uyghur province.

China has previously warned Washington that if it makes restrictive decisions about the Olympics, Beijing will respond with countermeasures.
