The United States will scare China with a hypersonic missile

Joe Biden our president Boris Johnson British and Scott Morrison He will announce with the Australian Prime Minister developments on Tuesday.

Cooperation in developing hypersonic missiles is another step in China’s deterrence efforts.

Under the deal struck last fall, the United States will supply Australia with nuclear submarines.

The agreement came after the Pentagon ramped up its efforts in hypersonic weapons after realizing that China had already made progress in technology. Beijing has already conducted hundreds of tests with missiles capable of five times the speed of sound. By contrast, the US military has conducted fewer than a dozen such tests so far.

The system tested by China last year allowed hypersonic weapons to be launched over the Antarctic, another problem for US missile defense against missile threats from the Arctic.

High-speed missiles are a problem for the United States because they can maneuver at very high speeds in flight, unlike ballistic missiles, which follow a specific trajectory, making them easier to intercept.
