The World's Pinkest Mobile Phone That Will Make You Feel Like Barbie Has Finally Arrived – PCW

In addition to the phone, which is also suitable for digital detox, there are plenty of trendy accessories waiting for you, and the list of surprises does not end even after you turn it on.

Many people have already buried their devices from before the days of smartphones, which are now called dumb phones. However, there is still a demand for them to this day, and when a good piece is produced, the nostalgia factor is definitely captured, convincing many users to buy such a device (for example, this did not happen with the Nokia 3210 You. You can read our test here). Since then, HMD has split from Nokia and produced smartphones and feature phones with a simpler range of devices under its own brand name. From the latter, we have now managed to create something that is guaranteed to attract everyone’s attention. This is HMD Barbie phone!

Aren't you late?

Last year’s blockbuster movie brought one of Mattel’s golden egg-laying hens back into the limelight, and countless manufacturers have been selling tons of pink products on its tail. HMD, on the other hand, has decided to wait and only now, at the end of summer 2024, will it launch the HMD Barbie Phone, a foldable phone and of course a feature phone, meaning it doesn’t have the services of a smartphone.

The Barbie phone isn’t secretly meant to promote the digital detox movement among young people (too), but in order to make it truly attractive, HMD has gone to great lengths to make it truly appealing. Even unpacking the phone is a huge experience, and you’ll not only get a phone in a simple box, but you’ll also get a huge accessory alongside the foldable phone. For example, two backs: you can add the bright patterns of the 1992 Totally Hair Barbie design or the “vintage heart” design. The phone also comes with an embroidered phone holder and small accessories and toys, such as a mini skate or ice cream. You can use them to decorate your phone, and you can even stick stickers with rhinestones, rainbows, flowers or flamingos.

Those certain little details

You may have noticed that we haven't written much about the phone so far. This is no coincidence, if you don't look at the surroundings, it's a simple 4G phone running S30+ OS, and the extras are exhausted by the fact that it has, for example, a 0.3MP camera and can also be used as a flashlight LED.

However, HMD has made sure that you don’t have to deal with this when using it. For example, the replaceable battery is pink, and when you first turn it on, your phone says “Hello, Barbie!” It welcomes you. In our opinion, you’ll also come across the bigger idea here, because

There will already be one on the new mobile phone. missed call from ken!

The menu icons are all pink, of course, and follow the Barbie design, and even the snake game has been changed to pink. You won't get an additional app, like the Facebook client, but the Opera Mini browser is still there if you want to browse the Internet painfully on a small screen. However, it has been played up with some special Barbie features from the developers: there is, for example, the BarbieMeditation app, and the mobile gives you “digital balance tips”, and you can also find self-care reminders in the settings – but unfortunately we don't yet know what exactly these items can cover and how useful they will be. What was, of course, mandatory were the Barbie sound effects and ringtones. If you dig further, you can activate the Barbie filter in the camera app, and there are some secret codes waiting to be discovered (for example, #barbie#).

If you've already caught Barbie fever, or never got over it, or maybe you just know after seeing the pictures that you or your loved one needs such a thing right away, you can buy the device with all the trimmings (a shortened version was not made), but be prepared that this tour will not be cheap: They are asking for 49,990 Hungarian forints. For such a tool.
