In recent days, earthquake-like changes have occurred in Zalgerseg. The successful coach thus far, Robert Waltner, resigned unexpectedly, and the club leaders accepted him without thinking.
Mandiner Sport also detailed the events and behind-the-scenes secrets, But for the first time, the news was on the subject – owner Gabor Vig also stated in a statement – that after the departure of the head coach, the professional crew (junior coach Josef Buzek, fitness coach Istvan Ferenczi and goalkeeper Jeza Vlachak) will be truncated to lead the squad.
That is why it was unexpected for everyone that Zalaegerszeg, who was fourth in the table, announced on his website shortly thereafter: Balázs Molnár, a former national team player for the club, became Robert Waltner’s successor.
The specialist who has run the local academy for four years now (and who has also served as youth captain) has played 220 times as a player on NB I in Zala, and was a member of the club’s only legendary squad (2001-02 season). He has played for the Hungarian national team 14 times and is one of the few Hungarian footballers who can achieve a successful career. He also played in the Spanish League (Espanol), the Second League (Elche) and the Turkish First Division (Ankaraspor).
The specialist (who previously worked with the first team) said the following on the ZTE website after his appointment:
“Fortunately, the team has been doing great results recently, and the team is also good, so
The goal of the club’s management was to make as few changes as possible in the professional crew you just joined,
Certified Head Coach. Since the team knows us all so well, there is a chance that everything will go smoothly. Only because we are professional footballers, so whatever happens recently, they will be able to focus as much as possible on the tasks of the coming weeks.”
Balázs Molnár thought of the near future as follows:
“We want to present the same successful game as in the previous games.
In addition to a stable team defense, we try to play an attacking game a little more than scoring goals. With the team’s performance so far, our goal in the remaining eight rounds should be to maintain that position and finish fourth to sixth at the end of the tournament.”
