Organizers announced on Wednesday that the Reading and Leeds Music Festivals will take place in the UK this summer. The British Prime Minister said on Monday that with the pace of vaccinations in the country progressing well, restrictions imposed due to the Coronavirus epidemic will be lifted in three phases. By early summer, nightclubs, closed bars and restaurants can be opened.
Organizers wrote on Twitter that “After the government’s latest announcement, we can’t wait to return to the fields this summer. Come on!”
The two festivals will take place in late August, and the same festival will take place in two different venues – Reading in the south of England and Leeds in the north of England. The organizers of Glastonbury, the UK and the world’s largest outdoor music festival, announced in January that the event could not be held in June this year either.
Organizers of a number of other major events in the UK, such as Boomtown, Latitude, Park Life and Download, are planning to return in 2021.
At the moment, it is difficult to predict which European festivals will take place this year. The organizers of the Sziget Festival indicated on their website that they may already be holding the event in August of this year, which was missed last year. “We are working on this through appropriate security measures to provide you with the best festival experience possible. Whatever future for us, your safety comes first!” they write.
This summer, you also won’t miss the Onum Festival in Albania, the Midi Festival in France and Neversy in Romania.
