Following the huge success of the Fallout TV series, a next-gen update is now available for the latest single-player installment in the game series. Despite being announced a couple of years ago, the patch brought very little to the table. Graphically, Fallout 4 basically didn't spruce up, beyond that. Based on the change list Very few bugs have been eliminated in it.
Fortunately, the update has its beneficiaries, as simply adjusting the graphics settings on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles has greatly improved the game, but those who are willing to part with some additional cosmetics can switch to 60 frames mode, which significantly improves Gaming experience.
On the other hand, the mandatory update upset PC players: previous game saves were destroyed using mods, and you cannot customize the graphics settings on the Steam Deck, because the Fallout 4 playlist is not available. In addition, support for ultra-wide displays is also poor, and as in the previous case, the game has to be tweaked to run and look as expected even at the rarely used resolution.
It might have been better not to release the update on PC either, as it didn't do anything noteworthy on that platform other than mess with fans and mod makers.
