Because everything starts with a good experience – that’s the motto of the Rose Camp, which is taking place at the Kontyvirág Forest School in Lakitelek this week. The professional program begins every morning with joint singing.
– Our current camp is mostly different from the previous camps in terms of numbers
says camp leader Eva Neuer-Agarde.
– There is great demand and interest in our camp, because now there are more than ten of us compared to last year, but unfortunately thirty applicants were rejected due to lack of space. We are working on expanding it next year. We have received and continue to receive very good feedback from parents. We see that what they’ve learned here, they can also apply at home, and they’re getting better every year. Anyone who comes to us can build from scratch to a very good musical level in five or six years. Perhaps this huge popularity is also due to the fact that we don’t just read citations all day long, because this age group also needs other programs. He added that we offer a wide range for this.
– We also invite famous zither players, who kids can see live. You can experience preparation, performance and tuning from bands that have been playing together for decades. In learning the zither, we choose the materials that match the children’s knowledge. Eva Noir-Agardi said, We have put together entertainment programs in a way that is suitable for all age groups.
– We work a lot to limit the number of quotes per day. Last year, we were still worried about whether the ratio was good. We always ask children what they like best and what they would change about it. The youngest is eight years old, the oldest is seventeen, but there are also some teachers who still want to learn. We strive for a trial experience, we also have a direct relationship with parents, and are always available during the year. Perhaps this camp is also good because we grew up in it, already knowing from experience what funny things children are up to, because we did them at the time. We don’t have that iron sternness, because we know that after the lights are out, there are still a few things and how important they are. But, for example, you can’t bring a phone to a zither lesson, and they understood that, – said Szilvia Dobos, who is in charge of other programs in the camp.
There are seven groups in the camp: Zsuzsanna Szerencsi from Tiszakécske performs nursery rhymes from Galgamács, Flóra Szabolcsi from Debrecen performs Moldavian melodies, Urbán Bernadett Léczné from Kecskemét performs dance melodies, and Sándor Asztalos from Nyós performs. Melodies by Bodrogkozy are taught by Attila Koroc, Slavonic folk songs are taught by Eva Noer Agaardi from Matiszalka and children’s songs are taught by Aguta Firenze from Nyerigyhaza.
On Tuesday, musical instrument maker Ferenc Julias arrived at the camp. He also made several children’s zithers. Not long ago, he developed the zither, which is a curiosity, and introduced it to children. The Mezőtúr Szivární zither zither orchestra will also be a guest at the camp, which was founded 53 years ago. Campers will also be able to watch a Tyrolean band live. During the six days, the seven groups will learn a set of songs, which will be presented to parents and interested parties on Saturday afternoon.
