In his letter of complaint, and later during our phone conversation, he detailed the travel “experience” he had on May 29, White Monday, on the MÁV flight from Keszthely to Budapest. So in the chaos, the Petas had to find a place for themselves, but only found a corner in one part of the train suitable for standing, and then switched their tickets when they got off at Székesfehérvár, but the ticket clerk refused the request, saying that the ticket inspector had not processed the ticket. This was indeed the case, because according to Bata, the guides did not engage with it because they could not meet the proper travel conditions, i.e. the MÁV. But because of this, they did not get the ticket back, so they continued to be a little disappointed and angry, and soon after they turned to the police.
After reading Beáta’s letter of complaint, we immediately contacted MÁV to inquire about their situation, but until the publication of our last article, we had not received a response from them, but a little later, as the passengers above all apologized and regretted the incident.

It is worth choosing online ticket exchanges, for example the MÁV app or the ELVIRA timetable planner. Regarding the seat ticket refund, they said that MÁV-START is obligated to pay the amount to the passenger if the passenger reserves his or her seat by redeeming the seat ticket or in some other way and MÁV-START sells the reserved seat again and again. If the assigned seat cannot be secured, the passenger must report this to the ticket inspector, who, if he is not really able to secure the seat, must issue a certificate authorizing the passenger to pay.
– On the basis of the certificate, in addition to the additional ticket, seat ticket and certificate, MÁV-START will pay the amount paid for the additional ticket and seat ticket at any ticket office without charging a processing fee – we learned from MÁV’s response, then they also explained when the refund will not be given.
– There is no refund if the passenger has secured a seat in the same class of carriage within 5 minutes of notifying the ticket inspector. If the passenger is assigned a seat in a higher class of carriage within 5 minutes of notification to the ticket inspector (in this case, the passenger is exempted from paying the carriage class difference fee).
