They do not feel the crisis: they buy luxury cars like sugar

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars published a press release saying that it recorded “all-time high annual sales” in 2022, delivering 6,021 cars, up 8 percent from 2021.

This is the first time in the company’s 118-year history that sales have exceeded 6,000 units in a single 12-month period.

– announced the British manufacturer of luxury cars.

Rolls-Royce sales topped the American, Chinese and European markets. The automaker said orders have been good this year, noting that demand for its cars — many of which cost less than $400,000 — has fueled the expansion of the company’s Goodwood plant in the United States.

2022 was an important year for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Our backlog extends well into 2023 for all models. We haven’t seen any slowdown in orders

– announced CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös.

It’s not just a Rolls-Royce. Bentley and Lamborghini achieved record sales last year. Lamborghini delivered 9,233 cars in 2022, an increase of 10 percent compared to the previous year. Bentley delivered 15,174 cars, an increase of 4 percent compared to the record year 2021.

The rise in luxury car sales reflects that the ultra-high net-worth are doing well, even as the central bank’s tightening monetary policy and high inflation put pressure on ordinary consumers. This is also shown by the success of Ferrari, Which we wrote about in detail earlier.
