Shortly after the first trailer, the first demo of the game arrived, so we can finally see what the game will actually look like. In the not-too-long video below, we can see scenes from the city exploration, turn-based combat system, and character cards in the demos also appear for a few seconds.
The game still looks pretty good, which can now also be said of the actual gameplay, not just the cinematic trailer shown earlier. The city shows a varied face, in some places it is beautiful, in others it is bleak, and the battles look amazing and lively even though they will be divided into rounds.
Thaumaturge is being made exclusively for PC, but there is still no word on when it will be released. At this year’s GDC, which will take place in San Francisco in March, it will only be shown behind closed doors for now, which suggests we won’t be expecting a premiere for some time. ■
