Sicily, Paris and Yellowstone National Park may be more popular destinations this year than ever before.
One of the biggest trends is “crowd jetting,” the fact that people want to visit the set of the series or movie they’re watching.
According to the American Express survey, which looked at the travel preferences of millennials and Gen Z primarily in Australia, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India, Canada, Japan, India, the United Kingdom and the United States, this type of film tourism is on the rise, and this year more than ever can be expected. Bigger boom.
Seventy percent of those surveyed said they wanted to travel to a destination they just saw in a movie, such as The White Lotus, Yellowstone, or Emily in Paris.
At the same time, the majority of respondents not only plan to travel more this year than last year, but also spend more money on travel.
In addition to the stationary jets, there is a renewed focus on travel that focuses on food and wellness, as well as visiting little-known locations. People surveyed are happier to shop at small businesses and spend more if they know they are supporting local people.
It also turns out that travel is an important budget priority, for example 84% of respondents would rather travel than buy some luxury items.
With no worries about plans being hampered by lockdowns or other measures, travelers are once again becoming bolder about booking in advance. Seven out of ten travelers said they’d like to plan three to six months in advance.
