The University of Debrecen (DE) and the Szechenyi National Library (OSZK) have expanded their existing cooperation. The Foundation supports the research work of the Faculty of Arts (BTK) in a new area, and the University and the Debrecen University National Library (DEENK) can be enriched with important contemporary documents that are Hungarian archives.
The agreements to this effect were signed on Wednesday David RosaGeneral Director of OSZK, Robert Kemenevy,Dean of DE BTK Christmas pearlGeneral Manager of DEENK.
The main goal of OSZK is to preserve and make available various documents of written cultural heritage, ensuring and supporting that researchers – including institutions of higher education, including research groups at the University of Debrecen – have access to all necessary information. .
The work of the Classical Hungarian Literary Textology Research Group at the Institute of Hungarian Literature and Cultural Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences was initially the preparation of a critical edition of Csokonai, but in the last decade and a half it has expanded its activities. With the book form of the Csokonai edition completed, the main task is to prepare its partly electronic edition, partly edition of Kazinczy's life work, and currently Batsányi's critical edition.
– The current agreement gives the research group digital access to all documents preserved in the OSZK for the critical edition of the poems and correspondence of János Patsani. Thus, unlike the 1952 edition, it will be possible to publish Patsani's new volumes – poems and correspondence – according to existing textual regulations, he told the Hirek.unideb.hu portal after signing the contract. Attila DebrecenProfessor of the Hungarian Institute of Literature and Cultural Studies, Head of the Research Group.
The office cooperation revolves around the so-called technical documentation for use, labeled as Hungarian, which arrived at the OSZK between 1952-2003. Thanks to an agreement reached in 2003, this collection has been managed by DEENK as a national library since that year.
– This means that informational materials about the product created after 2003 already come to us, but materials from the previous period – spare parts catalogs, machine manuals, product manuals, technical specifications, assembly and operating instructions, as well as graphic technical documents – still remain. In the Széchényi Library. The current agreement covers this collection for the period 1952-2003, so that DEENK can receive the materials still at OSZK, thus completing the collection held in the university library – informed Director General Karacsony Jeong Yi.
After the signing, Dean Robert Kemenevy and the Directors General of the National Libraries discussed further possibilities for cooperation.
