Together they create a festive atmosphere in Torkeev

– There are settlements where many institutions are closed, there are places where they cannot finance public lighting, and other municipalities sell real estate collectively so that they can finance the public. In accordance with the decision of the representative body, we have also started preparing for the winter period, and strict restrictions will enter our institutions partly from November 1 and partly from mid-November. Benedick Robert Slay said in the introduction: Where and what we should do will be determined in the next few days.

The head of the settlement pointed out that because of all this, the municipality could not spend money on expenses beyond what was necessary: luxuries, if you like.

However, there seem to be well-functioning communities in town, and there are those who are willing to help so that there are holiday lights, and the Christmas village and ice rink can operate again this year.

– We bought and built an ice rink in the city last winter with the help of a tender. It was a pleasure to see the school groups, the happy self-absorbed faces from the office window, the fact that young and old were happy to indulge in this elegant kind of winter sports. In consultation with representatives of the winter sports department of the Túrkeve Sports Club (TAC), the decision was made that, if not for the whole season, at least for the period between the two holidays, we would try to set up the ice. skating rink. To this end, TAC has launched a fundraiser so that those who can and don’t mind the money can provide entertainment for others, and possibly help with the cost of setting up the course. In view of the current situation, I particularly stress that only those who can do this should provide – the details of the City Manager.

Course setting and operation also depends on the weather, of course, it can work when the temperature is a maximum of five degrees. It is also possible, unfortunately, that user fees will increase due to overhead costs, but that in itself will contribute to running the route. – Another thing that will cause grief to many people is the lack of Christmas lights. The deputy mayor, Emilia Cantorne-Pirro, took this matter particularly close to her heart. “With your directions,” added the Mayor, “we intend to collect a few days’ worth of equipment from private donations, at least on the last weekend of Advent and Christmas Eve, in order to create a Christmas atmosphere in our town.”

It will be the Christmas Village in Liget

Many people in the municipality are interested in whether there will be a Christmas village this year. As pointed out by Sly R. Benedick, the cost of this also falls into the category of “luxuries” expenses, so local government funds cannot be spared for this. In order to organize this, cooperation is also necessary, as expatriates have to bear the costs themselves. However, it seems Túrkeve wouldn’t be without a holiday fair. The Christmas Village is organized in a smaller circle, in Liget. On November 26, December 3, December 10 and December 17, those interested can certainly visit the fair, which creates a festive atmosphere.
