Total Car - Magazine - It turns out what the new Audi RS3 knows

Although the absolute top model of the A3 series has not yet been revealed, it has already become clear that in many respects it is exaggerating the presentation of the most powerful car in this class, Mercedes-AMG A45 S- and.

Interestingly, not in performance: Audi’s 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder will have 400 hp here, which is 21 less than that of Mercedes’ 2-liter. But the surprise is that the RS3 will be the fastest car: you can reach a hundred in 3.8 seconds, which is a tenth better than your competitor’s data, and its top speed will also be higher: 290 km / h.

Of course, the driving experience, which Audi designers tried to establish using a fairly modern all-wheel drive system, matters more than anything else. This allows, on the one hand, to deliver full power to the rear wheels, and on the other hand, to distribute the controlled torque between the rear wheels.

The drive works mainly according to the selected mode: in Auto and RS Performance mode the drive tries to keep the car neutral, in Dynamic mode it gives more torque to the rear wheels, while in RS Torque Rear mode it sends everything back: in this case You can even drift off the power of the RS3.

The RS3 chassis also features an extra 1 centimeter of planting compared to the S3 chassis, and they offer active vehicle shock absorbers at an additional cost. You also get high-stick tires and a ceramic disc brake system, but you’ll also have to pay extra for these.

For now, they’re trying to cover the outside details with a disguise film, but we know it won’t be long before that: the full show will take place in July.
