Total Car – Magazine – Peugeot has shown off a great concept car that is ultimately not an SUV

At this year’s CES, Peugeot presented its study car called the Inception Concept. Today it is almost obvious that it is an electric car, but the most interesting thing is that this time it is not an SUV, but a sedan with a flat and elegant line.

The start is based on the large Stellantis STLA platform, which is fully justified by its dimensions, as it is 5 meters long. The large length is accompanied by an unexpectedly small height, and the vertical range of the test car is only 1.34 meters. These two figures produce an elegant and flawlessly proportioned car, design elements of which would later appear in future Peugeot models.

Sharp, razor-like edges and large straight surfaces make the Inception a particularly aggressive car with a karaoke stance. The most elegant exterior detail is that the windshield does not end at the belt line, but extends to the cooled portion of the machine’s roof. Front and rear, the car is defined by the large upright surfaces, on which the three strip lights characteristic of today’s Peugeot are incorporated. The very unique, variable-area surfaces of the rims make the i point.

So the exterior is gorgeous, and such a beautiful sedan is an especially refreshing sight in the SUV sea. The simple, beautiful exterior is accompanied by a more futuristic tone and an interior more detached from reality. Inside, angular geometries predominate and the view is clearly the point, because at first glance the interior doesn’t seem very usable. The steering wheel with rounded edges and the round instrument cluster are perhaps the most interesting details in the interior.

Not only are the visuals, the technical data has also been published. They didn’t mince words: The Inception uses an 800-volt system and with a 100-kWh battery it could theoretically have a range of up to 800 kilometers. At the moment it sounds quite fancy, but they claim that with their new induction charger it will be possible to charge a car with a range of up to 150 kilometers in 5 minutes.

In 2025, Peugeot wants to present the first car made with this design language and similar technical solutions. Another interesting commitment is that Peugeot wants to become the leading electric vehicle manufacturer in Europe by 2030. To this end, they intend to introduce five new electric models in the next two years.
