The Transatlantic Inclusion Leaders Network (TILN) The Scholarship is a program for diverse young leaders, through which they work alongside selected civil society and business leaders, mentoring and educating each other to advance inclusive policies and strengthen social cohesion. Specialized trainers and partners are also participating in the programme.
More than 200 TILN alumni have reached senior positions, including in the European Parliament and the US Congress. by TILN a German Marshall Fund (GMF) It provides a unique opportunity to meet the demands of leadership in the twenty-first century, where it is critical that institutions reflect the diversity of societies on both sides of the Atlantic and promote equality, inclusion and belonging.

Who can apply?
GMF accepts all US federal states, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands, as well as EU member states, the UK, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Albania, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and Turkey.
GMF employees and their family members cannot apply.
Members of underrepresented groups are specifically encouraged to apply.

TILN program
TILN strives to inspire, inform and connect diverse young leaders, preparing them to assume leadership positions, excel in their work, promote inclusive policies and engage with key policy makers.
Dedicated instructors provide distance learning (December to May) to approximately 20 TILN scholarship recipients each year. In June, they will travel to Brussels for a one-week stay, where they will attend briefings by renowned experts, receive training on how to design and implement inclusive policies, learn about transatlantic policy-making institutions, businesses and civil society actors, and participate in the GMF Young Professionals Summit , which is crowned by the Brussels Forum, a unique opportunity to participate in the annual conference of the GMF.
TILN Fellows use their newly acquired knowledge and skills to better serve their communities. Participation in TILN also provides opportunities for lifelong learning and engagement to advance transatlantic relations in the future. Please note that the scholarship program is conducted entirely in English.
What does the scholarship include?
The GMF covers airfare, accommodation and meals in Brussels, as well as the costs of distance learning and in-person workshops (registration and instructor costs). Scholarship holders may incur some of their own expenses during their one-week stay in Brussels (eg airport transfer).
