Travis Vervida is Masek’s newest addition

The 26-year-old has played in the Canadian Junior and Collegiate League in his career so far, and will begin his professional career in Miskolc next season.
Travis Vervida was born in the Canadian province of Alberta and spent his early years with the Red Deer team, where he also won a championship. After that, he joined one of Canada’s most prestigious junior leagues, the WHL, where he played 32 games. Between 2014 and 2018, he played mostly in the Alberta Junior League as a starting point guard. The Canadian defender has strengthened the Trinity Western University team in the past five seasons, where he was the defender with the most goals in addition to winning the championship in the first year, and he was chosen as the best defender in the 2019/2020 season. And last year he led the team as captain.
– I was so happy to accept the offer from DVTK Ice Bears, it’s a great opportunity for me to start my career with such a great organization. I’m looking forward to getting to know the city and getting into next season. In terms of my playing style, I would describe myself as an attacking midfielder who is good at pucking and skiing, and is involved in quick attacks, but also plays a big role in defense. I’ve never been to Europe, so I’m really excited to learn about the culture and hockey here and the fans. Next season I want to be a key member of the team and contribute as much as possible to the league. Travis Vervida said the rest of the summer I will be in Alberta preparing for next season with some work and golf.
