If it's in Hungary – or anywhere in Central Europe, as it is In this group It always turns out – if you ask someone what their favorite strategy game is, the answer will most likely be Heroes of Might and Magic III. If you belong to that group, you'll be very happy now, because Ubisoft announced it at this year's Gamescom. The series is brought back to life after nearly ten years. With an introduction called Olden Era, which strongly reminds us of the legendary third part.
The series came to Ubisoft after Heroes of Might and Magic IV, and they developed the three sequels that have since been released, with less than great success. Die-hard fans were already groaning about Heroes IV, but Heroes V was truly a turning point, in addition to the cartoon-like 3D graphics, because it also opened a new chapter in terms of story and locations. Episodes VI and VII were received worse, and for a long time it seemed that the series was finally over.
On the other hand, it seems that Ubisoft wants to see it in its old glory, which is also evident from the fact that it has returned to the original name after VI and VII, which was officially called Might & Magic Heroes. Development has also been assigned to a new studio instead of Limbic Entertainment, which worked on the previous part, and recently released an amusement park simulation game called Park Beyond, or the Hungarian Black Hole Entertainment, which developed the sixth part – of course the latter was closed in 2012, so this is not surprising – from Darkest Dungeon, strongly inspired by the well-known Iratus: Unfrozen from Lord of the Dead, is making the game.
Right now, all we know about Olden Era is that it takes place before the events of the first game, and visually it looks a lot like the third game. As such, it strongly draws inspiration from the same. Invasion Songwhich has been the best Heroes addon in years. And if that wasn’t enough, this game will also be released in Early Access in Q2 2025 to ensure the best possible outcome based on player feedback. New Heroes already has a Steam page, You can add it to your wishlist here..
