Eszter Szabó-Feltóthy just swam the best World Cup Series time in the 200 backstroke, finishing fourth in the final held at Duna Arena. We won the competition with him, and were already looking forward to the National Short Track Championships starting in a week.
As expected, among our ironclad swimmers Eszter Szabo Veltothi He managed to reach the World Cup finals in Budapest at Donna Arena, which was organized with a lot of additional support and the participation of serious competitors.
After Athens and Berlin, our Tier 1 Olympic competitor swam his best in the 200m backstroke, and was also satisfied with a result of 2:10.73, which has now earned him fourth place.
– It was a really good swim, I really enjoyed it. Compared to the World Cups in Berlin and Athens, this was my best time ever, whether in the morning or afternoon. I think 2:10.73 at the start of the year is a pretty fair ratio. Don’t let anyone wonder why this came out now and why I swam four seconds weaker in Athens. That’s one of the reasons we wanted to take part in the World Cup series, to see what I can do in competitions with a constant workload. There was no relief this time either, I just went into it that way, the ‘hit or miss’ way. Anyway, it’s a great experience for me to be here in the series, sometimes I’m surprised when I see 2:04 swimmers next to me, but I’m still hoping I can cut that lead until the end of the season. Olympic Games… Now the organizers paved the way in Budapest as well, everything was as at world competitions, and of course it was a special pleasure for me that many of my friends were able to reach the final – The 21-year-old fullback told us a little about his background.
By the way, Esther started the 100 backstroke and 200 breaststroke as a warm-up, as did many other competitors representing our club. The young iron students of Dr. János Egrisi, Szimonita Galamp and György Lorenzi have primarily gathered experience (well, many of them have achieved personal bests) in a very strong field, preparing for the tasks of the season for adults and age group.
And if we’re talking about tasks, here’s one of the highlights of the fall, as Debrecen will host the National Short Track Championships between November 1 and 4. Vasas is once again preparing for the cívisváros race with a large team of almost twenty people, so in addition to the individual numbers, we can also be excited about our relay teams.
We asked Eszter Szabó-Feltóthy about her predictions:
– For me, this will also be a setup station, but I think that’s the case for almost the entire field this year. I’ll get it from work anyway. With Janie (Dr. Janos Egrisi – Editor) Exactly what numbers I’ll get are still to be debated, but I’m getting ready to start with a lot. It’s also good to switch at this time, I think the whole atmosphere will be interesting. How do I win the 200 back? I won’t say anything about this in advance, I didn’t win last year, we’ll see this year, but to be honest, I’m not nervous about that part at all. Of course, we want to score as many points as possible for Vasas. I have achieved Olympic level, I can still swim comfortably, and then, according to plans, there will also be a short training course. This suits me too, because there is still room for improvement in my runs, to put it mildly…
