As expected, Max Verstappen will appear again in 2023 in the F1 action series Drive to Survive. Dutch revealed that they have already completed filming.
After heavily criticizing the Netflix series, Max Verstappen announced last year that he did not wish to appear in the still hugely popular documentary series. At the time, rival Red Bull claimed that the series did not show the true picture of the fans, and in very few cases portrayed the members of the field in a bad light.
Despite what happened, it had already been made clear in the summer that the parties might have agreed to continue, as Verstappen revealed in a podcast then that we will certainly see him more in the series in the future.
It was a shame to leave the 25-year-old driver out for the upcoming fifth season in 2023, as he defended his title and showed incredible dominance in the second half of the year, which also broke the record for race wins in a single season. The two-time world champion recently confirmed in an interview with GQ magazine that he has since participated in a photo shoot with the Netflix crew.
Honesty is the most important
Besides Verstappen, many thought Drive to Survive had overplayed certain situations too much, but the Dutchman now seemed content when it came to being interviewed.
“It will only be good if we understand what we want from the other, right? I think the interview we had was really good,” Verstappen values. “I just wanted everything to be real. No pretension, no exaggeration, because I’m not. I just want it to be to the point and reflect my opinion as I see things. Of course, we haven’t seen the end result yet, but it looks good so far. I know this is important.” For Formula 1, so we were able to come to an agreement and I’m very happy about it.”
