The women’s water polo team arrived in Fukuoka on Friday and will start their World Championship campaign against Canada on Sunday. The team had to warm up before the first practice session on the concrete in front of the pool.
The Hungarian women’s polo team completed the finishing touches in Oita before the World Cup kicked off and arrived in Fukuoka, the venue for the World Cup, on Friday. According to the federation’s report, the players were not able to warm up before the first training session in the pool, because they had not yet had time to get their credits.
“While the crew was chasing cards, the girls were warming up on the concrete in front of the pool, there was also Latvian music, the good mood was there anyway” They wrote on the video.
Vanda Vályi spoke to M4 Sport inside the pool, and said that the preparations for the five days in Oita, during which the team trained with the Americans, went well. Everything is going according to plan, the team is in pretty good shape to be 100 percent by Sunday. In the current phase of preparation, the focus has increasingly shifted from physical work to tactical preparation and strengthening team cohesion.
The Hungarian women’s water polo team will start with a group stage match against Canada next Sunday, which will start at 1:30pm Hungarian time and will be broadcast live on M4 Sport and m4sport.hu.
