According to available information, air defense was activated over the city of Smolensk, western Russia, at dawn on Monday Ukrainian drones entered the airspace. According to the first statements of the Kremlin, all the attackers were destroyed, but based on the videos, it largely seems that this statement is not entirely true.
The footage shows the Smolensk Aircraft Factory, with flames erupting from outside the building. KAccording to Ezhev, at least two MiG-31 interceptor aircraft were damaged in the attack. The machine, dubbed Foxhound by NATO, has not been in production for nearly thirty years, so if the news is true, maintenance has likely been performed on the vehicles.
However, it is also possible that Russian air defenses have already hit all of the drones and that falling debris caused damage to the plant.
Kyiv carried out several attacks in the region: In the Pskov region bordering the Baltic Sea, for example, airports have been attacked before.
