The CMF brand under the Nothing umbrella will officially unveil the CMF Phone 1 smartphone on July 8. The design of the back of the device is one of the most interesting features of the mobile phone, but at the same time, we are happy to finally be able to see it in person in a recently published image. Moreover, the name of the phone can be seen on it, confirming many previous reports.
The mid-range smartphone will run Nothing OS 2.6.0 at launch. The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage – at least in the model shown here. The chipset is housed in a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, and it gets its power from a 5,000mAh battery.
A 50MP primary camera is installed on the back of the phone, and a 16MP selfie camera is on the front, which we can finally see in this image. By the way, nothing has actually confirmed these features in its previous teasers, except for the battery capacity.
The manufacturer recently released another image of the back of the phone.
We already knew that it will be possible to purchase separate back covers for the device, and these covers will not only be decorative, but will add additional functionality to the capabilities of the smartphone. One, for example, provides additional battery capacity, and the other can be used to insert a bank card.
Then there's another one with a bracket – nothing better than watching a TV series on your phone while eating, right? There will be a SIM card removal tool in the phone's box, and a screwdriver head will be attached to the other end of this tool, which will allow you to replace the back panels. The removable back will be available in at least four colors: black, blue, orange and light green.
Our guess is that the Nothing CMF Phone 1 will be an attractive option for those who don’t want to pay a fortune for a smartphone, or those who want to customize its look and functionality. While the concept of modular phones has failed so far, this model could offer something similar.
