When asked by fans, the CEO of Paradox Interactive confirmed that the game is still in development and is in good hands, but that it will definitely not be at this year’s PDXCon.
It is relatively rare for a game to be announced, a lot of gameplay is offered, and then – perhaps not regardless of the comments – something breaks so badly that several prominent developers leave the project, and then the entire development team is replaced by the publisher. This happened for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 last February, and we haven’t heard from the game since.
Finally, Paradox Interactive CEO Frederic Wester has answered fans’ questions confirmed, that the game is still in development, is “in good hands” and they can’t wait to show more of it when the team and project are ready. The big pity is that this definitely won’t happen for some time: Wester also mentioned that the title won’t be there yet at this year’s PDXCon on September 2nd.
What’s especially weird about the story is that we still don’t know the team developing the game, but they do know one thing, because Paradox was about to dump the project when they got into the picture.
