A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck near the southern part of Pasadena, California, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Delivery dateThe quake was initially measured at 4.6 magnitude, but was later downgraded. The quake was followed by a 2.1 magnitude aftershock. The tremor even disrupted ESPN's NBA Today program, but host Malika Andrews handled the incident calmly. A video uploaded to X shows the studio shaking.

The broadcaster, who had previously reported on the Olympics live, said. Another ESPN sports radio show studio was also hit by the quake, and footage was captured of their reaction. It can be viewed on X..

The quake was felt in southern San Diego, northern Santa Barbara and eastern Riverside County, but no injuries were reported. According to Los Angeles television station KNBC4, one person was trapped inside Pasadena City Hall after the building’s water lines broke in the quake. But there was one building where the elevators stopped working. The local fire department said it would conduct a land, air and sea survey of the damage in the Los Angeles area. Seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones said the quake was linked to a fault system. He added that there have been similar quakes before.

A week earlier, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck north of Los Angeles County, reportedly felt even inside the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium, where more than 47,000 people were at the time. That was preceded by a 4.9 magnitude earthquake that was felt across much of Southern California.
