The Kingdom of Norway is one of the Scandinavian countries, located in the far north, and is famous for its magnificent mountains and clear fjords. It was founded in 872 by Vikings, including Harald Széphaj, who united the peoples living there.
What is not talked about is that its inhabitants are in excellent health. Norwegian women sing for more than 83 years on average, and they also have outstanding indicators in terms of obesity, less than 25% of them are overweight. Their secret lies in their lifestyle, diet and physical activity.
Weight loss in Norwegian women
The Norwegian diet is similar to the Mediterranean diet, it is rich in fiber, protein and essential fats, and it avoids the consumption of processed foods with added sugar. The difference lies in the fact that due to geographical conditions, rapeseed oil is used instead of olive oil in the region. Other important sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are oily fish, salmon, mackerel and herring.

They eat a lot of vegetables and game, and instead of bread they often choose Knekkebrød, which means Norwegian flatbread. This bread alternative is full of fiber and vitamins and made with a variety of ingredients. Eating together is very important to them, the family usually has lunch at 4 in the afternoon, most of them work between 7 am and 3 pm. A light dinner will take place around 8 pm.
In restaurants – where they rarely go anyway – they serve much smaller portions than in other countries. They prefer to cook at home, and usually eat slowly, rather than in a hurry. Rest is very important to them, they really work to live, and often take a whole month off in the summer.

Additionally, they take great care in getting regular exercise, even despite potentially inclement weather. Hiking, jogging and hiking are part of their daily lives, and relatively few people use cars, and most travel by public transport – which also contributes to their physical activity.
Skiing, football, handball, and athletics are popular sports in Norway. They love spending time outdoors so much that they have a special word for it, friluftsliv, which means “life under the open sky.” And they love to eat the foods shown below.
Norwegian flatbread
The Norwegian flatbread is a real source of fiber and consists of sunflower seeds, oat flakes, sesame seeds, flax seeds, rapeseed oil and rice bran oil. It also contains honey, water and a little salt, but other types of oilseeds, such as pumpkin seeds, may also be included. For this reason, in addition to their outstanding fiber content, they are also rich in essential fats. In Norway, it is often eaten for breakfast with a slice of cheese and fresh vegetables.
Norwegian salmon
Ocean-caught Norwegian salmon is one of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, and its high protein content supports muscles and keeps you feeling full. In Norway, the use of antibiotics in fish is also very strictly regulated, since 1990 they have already reduced their use by 97%. This type of Atlantic salmon is a common food in the Scandinavian country, with residents consuming 1.4 tons of it annually. It is prepared in many ways: grilled, steamed, boiled, but not infrequently sold in thin slices, salted, and eaten raw as a topping or tossed into salads.
