Russians Malaya Rogina The news portal wrote for the first time that Alexander Bozan Karchenko, Russia’s ambassador in Belgrade, is talking about the establishment of a military base on the territory of Serbia.
Serbia is a “friendly country”, says Botsan-Karchenko, who “basically rejects sanctions against the Russians,” and a number of cooperation in the field of energy and military technology are underway between the two countries.
However, the most interesting statement made by Botsan-Karchenko was regarding a possible military base, stating that
The establishment of Russian military bases in Serbia is a sovereign decision of the country.
The ambassador did not clearly say that there would be any agreement between Moscow and Belgrade on the construction of a specific military base, but some news portals. they explainthat this is basically what the diplomat announced.
Perhaps this is out of the question, since it would be technically impossible to build a Russian military base in Serbia.
The member state of the former Yugoslavia is surrounded by countries that have imposed all EU sanctions on Russia, so it will be impossible to get Russian military equipment, soldiers and specialists into Serbia.
Therefore, the statement of Potszan-Karchenko, perhaps, is a hoax, in which they want to increase tension in an already very tense region due to the situation in Kosovo.
