Williams splurged on unusual paintwork, but he wouldn’t compete with them in Monaco. Fans are invited to vote.
Already this week, Williams has made headlines about the fact that it is preparing something before the first free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix. Since this was indicated with Gulf Oil, which joined them this year, and the sponsor having previously carried out such work with McLaren, speculation has begun about a possible unique plate.
The team came up with a new design on Friday, and more are coming soon. But not in his car as he drives around the Duchy, but only for the time being in digital form. They have announced a special promotion, the gist of which is that fans can vote on any of the proposed unique Gulf outfits to compete at the three Grand Prix weekends later this year.

The team presented the new uniforms on its official website, all of which were resplendent in the famous Gulf colors of light blue and orange. There are four different designs to compete against each other. Voting for the first pairing ends June 4. There will be three rounds of voting, and the finalists will compete in Singapore, Japan and Qatar.
Of the two existing panels, one showcases the traditional bay design, and the other is a more modern reinterpretation. Team boss James Foles and Alexander Albon revealed they like the traditional version better. “Heritage is important. I’m a simple person, I like clean lines.” – justified the competitor, who indicated that his helmet was also painted in the same color these days.
Fowles added that the traditional livery primarily evokes the Gulf’s past, and the successes of sports cars with the GT40 and Porsche, while the modern version also responds to demographic changes, symbolizing growth, a new audience, and the rejuvenation of Formula 1.
