Windsor Sports Combat Victories |  CTV News

Young athletes from Windsor, Ontario. They celebrate massive victories in combat sports tournaments across Canada and the United States

Fourteen-year-old Jaden Major, who trains at the Hybrid Training Academy in Windsor, picked up a decisive victory on Saturday to secure the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) East Coast Classic Championship.

In August 2023, Major stepped into the ring for her first professional kickboxing bout and captured the IKF World Junior Flyweight Championship by defeating an opponent who entered the fight with a 7-2 record.

Major's next fight is expected to take place in July at the 2024 IKF World Classic in Las Vegas.


At the 2024 Canadian Youth and Junior Championships in Calgary, Alta., Border City Boxing's Jayden Trudel won gold on Friday in the Calgary U23 Cup tournament.

Adding to his already impressive resume, the 19-year-old defeated an Alberta-based fighter by third-round TKO to capture the gold medal.

At the youth level, Border City boxer Jarilyn Castillo captured gold in her division on Friday to earn a spot on Team Canada and a chance to compete in the upcoming World Under-19 Championships.


Back in Ontario, 10-year-old Noah Zidane won a gold medal in a jiu-jitsu tournament on Saturday inside the Submission Academy in London, Ont.

According to his coaches, Zidane competed in a more advanced age group (12 to 13 years old) and they weighed about five pounds more than him.

Zidane is also training out of the Hybrid Training Academy in Windsor.
