In the final of the Oceania Qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, New Zealand defeated the Solomon Islands 5-0, thus qualifying for the intercontinental substitute qualifier.

Not only participating in the World Cup, but even winning the intercontinental play-off has never been so successful for the Solomon Islands, and this has not changed today.

The “pure whites” completed the two goals with three more goals after the turn, and so on 5-0They won. Their superiority is clearly shown by the fact that they conceded only one goal in the Qatari mini-tournament.

For the fourth time in a row, the New Zealand national team won the intercontinental play-off (beating Bahrain in 2010, losing to Mexico in 2014 and Peru in 2018), which they will play against the fourth-place finisher in the CONCACAF region qualifiers. In June – Costa Rica is currently leading by 19 points and in fourth place, one point behind Panama.
